: The authors declare that they have no conflicts of interest to declare.
: The Institutional Review Board (IRB) of the University of Mississippi Medical Center requires that a Self-Certification Form for Determining Whether a Proposed Activity is Research Involving Human Subjects be completed on all potential research activities. This project was exempt from IRB review by determination as QI methodology. Therefore, the self-certification form was completed by investigators prior to implementation of the QI initiative and retained in the project records.
: Consent was not necessary as this article reports on findings of a quality improvement (QI) initiative. Pre-implementation, baseline data was obtained through a retrospective review of already available records. Post-implementation data was obtained prospectively as patients underwent the standard of care that was initiated by a process change related to this QI initiative. All postpartum WLWH were provided the same standard of care.
