: The capture, manipulation, blood collection, and transport of samples were approved by the Secretaría de Biodiversidad y Ambiente of Jujuy province (Res. N° 040/2017-SB) and by the Secretaría de Medio Ambiente of Catamarca province (DISPC-2024–172-E-CAT-SEMA#MAEMA). Bat captures and handling were carried out in accordance with the U.K. Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act, 1986, and associated guidelines, EU Directive2010/63/EU for animal experiments.
