: Human RBCs were separated from buffy coats coming from anonymous healthy human donors. The buffy coats were provided to Istituto Clinico Humanitas (ICH) from authorized transfusion centers based on specific agreements, and their, use for research purposes was approved by the ICH Ethical Committee on 28/01/2016. Rat and mouse blood were provided by MTTLab (Medical Transfer Trieste Laboratories, Udine, Italy) (Authorization n 546/2019-PR, of 23/7/2019).
