: The study protocol and research tools were approved by the South African Medical Research Council Research Ethics Committee, and by the Associate Director for Science, Center for Global Health, U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. During data collection, private–sector social workers were retained to assist with ensuring access to social support services for participants who needed psychosocial support.
