The study was undertaken with approval of statutory authorities of the Central Institute of Brackishwater Aquaculture, Chennai, India. The experimental animal <i>Penaeus vannamei</i> is not an endangered shrimp, the provisions of the Govt. of India’s Wildlife Protection Act of 1972 are not applicable for experiments on this fish.
