: <i>Argopecten ventricosus</i> broodstock and larvae were manipulated in accordance to the basic conceptual principles and procedures of CIBNOR-CICUAL, an Internal Committee for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals (CICUAL). The well-being of the organisms was guaranteed, avoiding situations of pain or unnecessary stress. Fixed larvae for measuring growth were in accordance with the minimum number of organisms required to perform high-quality statistical analyses.
