: Ethical review and approval were waived for this study, since shrimp do not fall under phylum Chordata and subphylum Vertebrata which require ethical approval for research activities according to the Brazilian Federal Law No. 11794 of 8 October 2008 () and Brazilian Federal Decree No. 6899 of 15 July 2009 (). All rearing procedures were performed in compliance with relevant local laws and institutional guidelines, including those related to animal welfare.
