: NCU Faculty of History does not have any type of institutional review board process, so no formal ethics approval process was undertaken. The research project employed the Code of Ethics for Sociologists of the Polish Sociological Society, which, although designed for a different academic discipline, is well suited to the aims and scope of the project and the nature of the relationships between the researchers and participants. The article addresses ethical issues in the “InternalRef removed” section.
: Informed consent of human participants was ensured. Interviewees were informed about the aim and scope of the research, as well as potential uses of research data and its archiving. The possibility to anonymise the research data was presented and chosen by all participants, which is reflected in the manner of addressing participants in the article (Interviewee no. 1, Interviewee no. 2, Interviewee no. 3). All interviewees signed a consent form presented in their native language.
