: Our research practices strictly adhere to the principles of Monash Ethics Integrity and have been approved by the Monash Ethics Office under project number 44946. This approval underscores our commitment to conducting research in compliance with the highest ethical standards. The development and evaluation of LegalSemi were carried out with a strong focus on ethical considerations, particularly regarding the involvement of human annotators. We recognize the significant effort required for generating human-annotated data to train conditional independence classifiers in our method. To ensure this process is ethically sound, we have implemented measures to honor the contributions of annotators, including fair and transparent compensation and respect for their time. Additionally, the primary goal of LegalSemi is to establish an IRAC methodology-based benchmark that prioritizes ethical integrity. It is explicitly designed to avoid generating or disseminating any information that could harm individuals or compromise privacy. This conscientious approach reflects our dedication to fostering a research environment that upholds both ethical responsibility and societal benefit.
