: All applicable international, national and/or institutional guidelines for the care and use of mice were followed. All animal experiments were performed in compliance with the German animal protection law (TierSchG). Mice were housed and handled in accordance with good animal practice as defined by FELASA () and the national animal welfare body GV-SOLAS (). The animal welfare committee of the University of Freiburg as well as local authorities (Regierungspräsidium Freiburg) approved all animal experiments. All procedures performed in this study involving animals were in accordance with the ethical standards of the institution at which the studies were conducted and ethical approval was obtained from Regierungspräsidium Freiburg (G-13/04).
