: Regarding this submission, there are no conflicts of interest from a financial, personal or other standpoint. The work with human subjects was approved by the IRB at University of Michigan and all respondents (and non-respondents who were given the option to participate) were treated fairly and ethically. Per the IRB and good practice, all respondents to the survey about vision and the value of glasses (and all other survey questions) were given the option to consent and we followed protocol for informed consent in situations of clear power differentials.
