: The authors have no relevant financial or non-financial interests to disclose.
: This study was approved by the University of Nevada, Reno Human Research Protection Program (HRPP). This Research Integrity Board deemed the study exempt from full board review because it was of minimal risk to human subjects (Protocol # 684370-2). Furthermore, we certify that the study was performed in accordance with the ethical standards as laid down in the 1964 Declaration of Helsinki and its later amendments.
: Prior to agreeing to participate in the study, participants who expressed interest received an Information Sheet (available upon request) that explained the purpose of the study, that it was deemed of minimal risk of harm, and what it would entail, in detail. Assurances were provided regarding how participants’ identity would be protected, and that they would not be identified in publications that might result from the interview. Participants who scheduled an interview, upon reviewing the Information Sheet, had an additional opportunity to ask questions before the interview began. All participants consented verbally to the interview and to having it audio-taped and transcribed. Signed informed consent was not required owing to the unnecessary risk of compromising participants’ confidentiality given the study was deemed of minimal risk.
