Declarations
Human Ethics and Consent to Participate Declaration: Two ethics boards were involved to approve the study protocol and to ensure participant privacy and data security. Research and ethical documents were prepared according to prescribed legal requirements and were only considered valid when combined with a personal declaration of consent, which the participants could revoke at any time. Our study protocol included a mandatory ‘no objection’ medical declaration as required by the ethics board overseeing our main study. These documents were part of the University of Siegen ethics approval archive and can be consulted upon request.
Consent to Participate: All participants in this study provided their informed consent prior to participation. The purpose, procedures, potential risks, and benefits of the research were clearly explained to each participant. Participation was voluntary, and participants were informed of their right to withdraw from the study at any time without any consequences.
Clinical trial number: Not applicable.
