: We, the authors of this manuscript, hereby declare that the research presented in this manuscript “Assessing Legal Socialisation in a Youth Sample: Procedural Justice, Legitimacy, and Popular Discontent in Nigeria” was conducted in strict adherence to ethical standards and guidelines. The following aspects have been considered throughout the research process:We affirm that this manuscript represents original and authentic research conducted by the authors, and all information presented is accurate to the best of our knowledge.

: At the time of collecting this data, because the lead author was not affiliated to any institution. The lead author had to collect the data in accordance with the British Society of Criminology ethical code of practice.

: Parental approval was sought before involving the participants in the study and their identities were deindividualized. The lead author reached out to the principals of six secondary schools with a letter of introduction, outlining the objectives and nature of the study. Upon receiving approval from the principals, the lead author proceeded to obtain parental consent from willing participants before they could participate in the study.

: This study exclusively involved human participants and did not include the use of animals. Also, the study strictly employed a cross-sectional survey design and participants were not subjected to experimental interventions.

: We declare that there are no conflicting interests, whether financial or otherwise, that might potentially compromise the objectivity or integrity of the research presented in this manuscript.

: While a portion of the data has been utilized in a previous publication, it is important to note that the constructs and analyses presented in this current study have not been previously published and are not under consideration with any other journals at the time of submission.
