: The patient survey was conducted as a service evaluation project with approvals from Newcastle University and Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. All participation was voluntary and no patient identifiable information was collected. As such, Caldicott Approval was obtained but no formal consent or ethical approval were required. For the semi-structured interviews, ethical approval was obtained from the Wales REC 7 proportionate review sub-committee, along with approval from the Health Research Authority (HRA) and Health and Care Research Wales (HCRW) (REC reference 20/WA/0041). Informed consent was obtained from all participants. All data collected were audio-recorded, handled and stored securely in accordance with General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR). All participants were given pseudonyms.
