: Obtaining consent from parents/carers and children was central to the research relationship, and the students were informed that they could quit participation at any point during the research. Likewise, the teachers agreed to participate in the research. Permission to carry out research at a special educational needs school was also sought.

: The research participants agreed to use either pseudonyms or only their first name, instead of their full names for the publication of findings.
