: The study was conducted at Kiel University (in 2018 and 2020), whose ethical regulations for standard economics experiments (such as the one described in this manuscript) did not require ethics committee approval at the time. For the economics experiment conducted within the Kiel Experimental Economic Laboratory (KEEL) of the Department of Economics at Kiel University, the researcher was bound by the University’s code of scientific integrity without ex ante review. Expressed informed consent is given by all participants at the time of registering as subject participants at KEEL.
