The South Carolina Code of Laws (SC Code § 50–5-20) provides legal authority to the SCDNR to conduct research involving fishes and marine resources. In addition to having this research sanctioned by the state of South Carolina, we strictly followed the animal ethics protocol ACUC #1718 approved through Florida State University.
