: The study involves the use of <i>Channa punctata</i> that are commercially available and sold in local markets of the study area. The fishes were purchased from local fishermen around the study area and maintained in the laboratory following all standard protocols. Anaesthesia and tissue collection were performed as per Institutional Animal Ethics Committee Guidelines of Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo University, Baripada.
