: This research project was developed with the voluntary participation of all the individuals, including community elders, ritual practitioners, local organisations and experts. It involved qualitative methods like field observations, personal interviews of community elders and local experts. They shared their cultural knowledge about the rituals of the Meitei Community and their relationship with the Sacred Grove Complex (Umang Laibung). The research is purely based on local customs, belief systems, and intangible cultural practices. The engagement with each individual was conducted respectfully and sensitively throughout the research process. All participants, including local historians, expert ritual practitioners (Amaibi and Amai Piba), community leaders, architects and residents, were informed about the purpose of the study and showed their interest in sharing their knowledge voluntarily. The sensitive cultural information has been handled with respect and caution, along with their permission only.
