: All fieldwork was conducted in compliance with relevant national regulations. Prior approval for non-invasive sampling and surveys was obtained from the Forest Departments of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Ladakh, and Sikkim.
: As the study involved only non-invasive sample collection, approval for the research was obtained through appropriate permissions from the respective Forest Departments. Institutional Animal Ethics Committee (IAEC) clearance was not required.
