: Permission was obtained from the Research With Humans Ethics Committee of the Federal University of Amazonas, from the National Commission of Research Ethics (Permission n° 1.178.112/2015), from the Instituto do Patrimônio Histórico and Artístico Nacional (Authorization n° 11/2015DPI/IPHAN), and from the Fundação Nacional do Índio (Autorização n° 113/AAEP/PRES/2015). Additionally, prior to initiating our research, we presented the project during consultations with the indigenous residents of the three communities when we discussed our objectives and methodologies and solicited their approval and active participation. We also asked all of informants to sign a Letter of Free Consent and Understanding authorizing their participation in the project, following the recommendations of Resolution n° 196/96, of the National Health Council.
