Declarations
:
: We obtained permission and support from the relevant local government authorities to observe rituals in Hani villages and conduct interviews. We also collected samples of glutinous rice and documented related information. Before each interview, we received verbal consent from participants to share their information for research purposes. The collected glutinous rice samples, along with associated data such as characteristics, traits, collection locations, and personal details of farmers, were stored in a dedicated database to protect intellectual property and prevent patent applications by commercial breeding companies or germplasm research institutes.
