: Dolly Varden (<i>Salvelinus malma</i>) is not an endangered or protected species in the Russian Federation. Following the Federal law “On Fisheries and Conservation of Aquatic Biological Resources” №166-ФЗ, the non-commercial fishing of Dolly Varden charr does not require any permissions. All measurement procedures with fish were carried out according to the guidelines and following the laws and ethics of the Russian Federation, and approved by the ethics committee of the A.N. Severtsov Institute of Ecology and Evolution, Russian Academy of Sciences.
