A separate review protocol was not prepared. Changes compared to registration: change of wording (controlled trial instead of semi-RCT), use of Hedges’ g for all measures of effect (no risk ratio), use of Cochran’s Q Chi2 test and the I² statistic only for heterogeneity assessments (not tau2), only forest plots and no drapery plots, no subgroup analysis by ethnicity and teenage parents due to lack of data, and one additional collaborator (EJ). Extracted data and R codes can be obtained by contacting the first author.
