: No butterflies were harmed during the course of this project. All work was carried out with the full consent of the BCN Wildlife Trust on one of their reserves and they work closely with Natural England to ensure the best monitoring of species on their sites. Natural England also provided the BCN Wildlife Trust with written consent to undertake adult butterfly surveys of scarce species and Duke of Burgundy larval damage surveys specifically.
