We obtained written informed consent from the patients or the parents or guardians of the children who participated in the study. All samples were obtained with informed consent from patients aged 14–23 years with good periodontal health who were admitted to the Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao University for orthodontic or impacted tooth extraction. This study was approved by the Ethics Committee of Qingdao University Affiliated Hospital, receiving approval number QYFY WZLL 28602 on 2024.03.25. All aspects of animal research are strictly conducted in accordance with the laboratory animal welfare ethics principle at Qingdao University Affiliated Hospital, and the protocol for the collection of all samples was approved by the Animal Laboratory in the Science and Education Building of Qingdao University (China). The experiment, titled ‘Carbonic anhydrase 1 induced dental follicle stem cells co-culture with dental pulp stem cells: a novel strategy for alveolar cleft bone regeneration’, was granted approval number No. AHQU-MAL20221201 on 2024.03.05.
