: The bat was housed for rehabilitation purposes under the state wildlife rehabilitation permit for the Southwest Virginia Wildlife Center of Roanoke, issued by the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources. It was not euthanized for the purpose of the project, but for the marked decline in its health. The deceased bat was transferred to Radford University under Powers’ state salvage permit, issued by the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources.
