The Research Clinic on Gambling Disorders operates as a unit at Aarhus University Hospital as part of the public health system in Denmark. It is one of very few clinics in Denmark with expertise in research and treatment of gambling disorder, and the clinic is consulted by official authorities and the gambling industry alike. In 2020, 2021, and 2022, the clinic provided several gambling operators with an expert appraisal in online gambling patterns to contribute to the improvement of AI software aimed at early detection of problematic gambling behavior. The clinic was paid for these advisory services by the standard tariff at Aarhus University Hospital. No individuals made any personal gains.
