: As described above, written informed consent was obtained from study participants after briefing on CDC requirements for infectious disease screening. The nature of the UAT samples to be analyzed in this project were examined by the responsible ethics body of Benghazi University-Libyan. Recognizing the strict UAT control and unlinked demographic information with serum samples, the project was judged to not require further ethical oversight.
