The digital rehabilitation platform used in the digIRENA intervention was publicly tendered and awarded by the Deutsche Rentenversicherung Knappschaft-Bahn-See (DRV KBS). The selection process was conducted independently by DRV KBS and was not influenced by the authors. None of the authors have received funding, compensation, or have any other ties to the app company. The study was financed by the German Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs (Bundesministerium für Arbeit und Soziales). The first author is a doctoral student at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, the institution responsible for conducting this study. While DRV KBS financed the rehabilitation interventions as part of a pilot project, the authors’ involvement was limited to evaluating the effectiveness of these interventions.
