: Ethics approval for this study has been granted by the Biomedical Research Ethics Committee at the University of the Western Cape in South Africa (Ethics number: BM20/2/7). Permission to conduct this study at the University of Western Cape has been granted by the Registrar’s office (Reference number: UWCRP130420MH). Permission to conduct this study at the Tibb treatment centres has been granted by the facility manager for both community clinics. Participant’s role in this study will be voluntary. All participants will be given an information sheet which clearly explains the purpose of this study and requests their participation. Participants will complete an informed consent form to participate in this study. Confidentiality will be observed as their names will not be disclosed throughout this study. A number system will be used instead of names. Participants will be informed that they have the right to withdraw from this study at any point. Participants will be informed that no benefit or harm is expected to occur during this study; however, the results may lead to better clinical practice in the future. Anonymity will be ensured when disseminating the results by using codes instead of names. In the event that any participant experiences any form of emotional harm, they will be referred for counselling.
