: The first author, Associate Professor Lindsay Carey (La Trobe University, Melbourne and the University of Notre Dame, Sydney), is the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Religion and Health and author of several cited articles as part of this review. The first author however, has only been Editor-in-Chief since 2021 and therefore had no influence over the content and themes of JORH from 1961 to 2020. The first author was also independent of the actual statistical and thematic analysis which was undertaken by the remaining co-authors who declare no conflict of interest as they had no prior affiliation with JORH or its publisher Springer Science Media. The second author, Satish Kumar has co-authored a method-based paper regarding bibliometric analysis (Donthu et al., 2021) which was used to undertake the analysis in the current paper.
: This analysis did not require formal ethics approval as the research did not involve any human or animal subjects, nor therefore was it necessary to acquire subject/participant consent.
