: The current study was reviewed by the Institutional Review Board at the University of Minnesota (STUDY00013294; PI: G.M.F.) and by the Research Evaluation and Assessment department within Minneapolis Public Schools (Project UNITE, O-2022-02) to ensure adherence to ethical standards in the conduct of research with human participants.
: This evaluation project involved passive consent from parents and active, written consent from student participants. Parents were informed of the evaluation using an IRB-approved letter translated into four primary languages spoken in the district and had 2 weeks to opt-out of their child’s participation. Teachers informed students of their rights as study participants and students provided active, written assent to participate in the survey.
