: The Malawi Health Research Committee determined that ethical approval was not deemed necessary in this study considering the fact that the study used data from a research study already approved by an ethical research committee. According to the 2015-16 MDHS report [11], the MDHS study was ethically approved by Malawi Health Research Committee, Institutional Review Board of ICF Macro, and Centre for Disease and Control (CDC) in Atlanta, GA, USA and Prevention IRB.
