: The research relies on survey data concerning the perceived prestige/luxury of fashion brands. An application to the Internal Review Board (IRB) at Yonsei University was submitted before data collection. The IRB approved the application (Approval No: 7001988-202403-HR-1837-05), and the data was collected through Amazon’s Mechanical Turk (MTurk) and Prolific. Details of the survey are provided in the manuscript and Web Appendix A, C, and D.
: Before participating in an online survey, the subjects were presented with explanations and precautions about the research. Ethical aspects of conducting research, such as withdrawal during the process and predicted side effects, were clearly explained beforehand. Voluntary consent was obtained before the subjects proceeded to the survey questions. The IRB also indicated that the planned survey indeed satisfies the ethical guidelines of research and includes informed consent from the research subjects.
