: The study was conducted in accordance with the recommendations for biomedical research outlined in the Declaration of Helsinki, Resolution No. 8430 of 1993 from the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of Colombia and with respect for the ethical principles upheld by certain Indigenous peoples (National Indigenous Organization of Colombia, 2020). Approval was obtained from the community through its governor, as well as from the Ethics Committee of the Center for Advanced Studies in Childhood and Youth, through Act 001 of February 2023. Confidentiality was ensured by replacing participant names with letters. Aspects were taken into account to carry out culturally safe research, acknowledging that colonization, extractivism, and discriminatory policies have created a context of continuous trauma and high rates of mental health problems among Indigenous peoples.
