: This study was performed in line with the principles of the Declaration of Helsinki. Approval was granted by the Health Research and Ethics Committee of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LREC/06/10/2179) and the Institutional Research Ethic Committee of Durban University of Technology, South Africa (IREC 066/230). Gatekeepers’ permission to interview participants was obtained from the Lagos State Ministry of Health and the medical directors of the DR-TB treatment centres where participants were recruited.
: A written informed consent was obtained from all participants included in the study. The objectives of the study were explained to the participants. They were also informed that participation or non-participation in the study would not affect the provision of healthcare services. In addition, they were informed that they were free to withdraw their consent at any time during the study. The data was anonymized, and personal identifiers were not obtained.
