: All procedures related to the COMPASS study were approved by the University of Waterloo Office of Research Ethics (ORE #30118), Brock University Research Ethics Board (REB #18–099), and appropriate school board committees. A full description of the COMPASS study methods is available online (), or in print []. The EXIST project was registered by French regulations following reference methodology MR004, in coordination with the Université de Lorraine Data Protection Office (no. 2021 − 156). Prior to their participation, adolescents and their legal representatives were informed in writing about the study and their right to refuse to participate or to ask to remove their data at any time.
