Compliance with ethical standards
:
: The authors declare that they have no conflict of interest.
: The study was conducted in accordance with the Ethical Guidelines of the German Association of Psychologists (DGPs) as well as the American Psychological Association (APA), and the project was approved by the Ethics Committee affiliated with the funding source. Additionally, by the time the data were acquired it was neither customary at Kassel University nor at most other German universities to seek ethics approval for simple studies on personality, attitudes, and hypothetical decisions. Thus, ethical approval was not required for this study in accordance with the national and institutional guidelines. However, the study exclusively makes use of anonymous questionnaires and no identifying information was obtained from participants. Moreover, every participant had to read and agree to two questions concerning their consent. They were also explicitly informed that all their data would be treated confidentially and that they could withdraw from the study at any given time, without explanation, by simply closing the internet browser.
