: The samples of Coastal Creole pigs were supplied by the Provincial Organism for Sustainable Development of the province of Buenos Aires (OPDS), the primary authority for the conservation and management of fauna at the provincial level in Argentina, under Law 12,016. Additionally, samples were collected by licensed hunters in the area, authorized by OPDS, following guidelines established by the American Society of Mammalogists for the capture and ethical handling of animals.
