This study involved a retrospective analysis of flock performance data routinely recorded under the Network Project on Sheep Improvement (Sonadi Unit) and did not involve any experimental interventions or invasive procedures on animals. Therefore, no specific ethical approval was required for the data collection. However, the overarching research activities conducted at the College of Veterinary and Animal Science (CVAS), Navania, operate under ethical clearance granted by the Institutional Animal Ethics Committee (IAEC), registered under CPCSEA Registration No. 2143/GO/Re/SL/22/CPCSEA, issued by the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Government of India.
