: Data collection followed the standards of the German Psychological Society (DGPs). Given the type of data collected (i.e. participation in the study did not cause any conceivable harm or discomfort for the participants that exceed their everyday experiences; research was conducted on common teaching methods in higher education), no ethical approval was considered necessary according to the guidelines at that time (2017). Participation was voluntary and participants gave informed consent to participate in the study. The data contains no personal or personally identifiable information.
