Authors declare Ethics Committee Approval was not required for this study because all the enrolled stray queens underwent ovariectomy under the Veterinary Local Authority of Cagliari Metropolitan District, as ruled by the National Lex 281/1991 for the control of urban stray cat and dog population and did not undergo any other experimental procedures or manipulation.
