: The study was carried out using stored RNA extracts and organ samples of a cat euthanized for ethical reasons collected with the agreement of the cat owners for clinical and diagnostic purposes independent of the study. As no cats were sampled exclusively for the purposes of this study, no separate ethical approval was required. All efforts were made to minimise the discomfort of the animals during sampling.
