: Bat captures and sampling in Spain were performed with the permission of the Spanish Regional Committee for Scientific Capture (Permit number 2013: SF/555), and were authorized by the Bioethics Committee of the University of Barcelona, in compliance with the ethical and integrity standards required by this committee, in accordance with the regulations established by the Catalan and Spanish governments, as well as the European Union. Bat captures and sampling in Chile were authorized by the Servicio Agrícola y Ganadero (SAG-Chile. Resolución exenta Nº8431/2021) of the Chilean Government.
