: Brad R. Fulton’s work on the National Study of Community Organizing Organizations (NSCOO) was funded in part by foundations who provide grants to organizations in the field of organizing. While this may create a perception of conflict, no pressure was exerted on the data analysis or findings that emerged from the NSCOO. Fulton also has an active conflict-of-interest management plan in place through Indiana University. Richard L. Wood servespro bono on the Board of Directors of the PICO National Network, one of the major national networks of community organizing whose work is analyzed here. Following the completion of the NSCOO, Wood also received sabbatical research support from the PICO National Network (2016–2017). Wood has an active conflict-of-interest management plan in place through the University of New Mexico Institutional Review Board.
