: All the fish specimens used in the study were collected from local fishermen of every sampling station who capture fishes using traditional fishing gears on a regular basis for subsistence and commercial purpose. No live animals were harmed during this process. However, the study was conducted under the guidelines of the Committee constituted for the purpose (Ethical Approval Committee, EAC) at the College of Fisheries, Assam Agricultural University with vide approval no. AAU/G-9/COF/2021-22/3575 Dated 23/01/2022.
