: The biological model on which we have worked, the amphipod Gammarus fossarum, does not benefit from any particular protection status, and the impact of our samples has been minimal with regard to population densities. These organisms being crustaceans, there is currently no legal professional qualification necessary for their experimental manipulation in the laboratory. This did not exempt us from respecting the 3R rule. Our protocols have taken care to use and sacrifice as few individuals as possible, and we will perform anaesthesia on ice before any vivisection or euthanasia.
