:
: Ethical review and approval were not required for the animal study because biological samples have been taken as part of the routine annual veterinary control without any harm or risk to the life of the animals under study at Loro-Parque Fundación. Animals were treated appropriately according to the Spanish legislation and the EU Directive (2010/63/UE) on “Protection of Animals Used for Experimental and OtherScientific Purposes”. The study complies with the ARRIVE guidelines developed by the NC3Rs, and all efforts were made to minimize the number of animals used to produce reliable scientific data, as well as animal suffering.
